how to do chrmoatography

You will need 

1. 1 colored felt

2. A beaker

3. 1 piece of paper towel

4. Pencil

5. Tape

Step 1 

Fill the beaker up to 25 milliliters 

Step 2

 cut the paper into 2cm by 6cm strips.

Step 3

Cut the paper and put a dot with the colored felt 1 cm 

above the bottom

Step 4 

then put into the water so that the water barely touches the dot .

Step 5

the normal pencil and put it on top of the beaker and wait for the results. It should look like this

i learnt from this activity is that chromatography is a use of seperating mixtures by using a moving solevent on a filter paper. a drop of mixture solution is spotted near one end of the paper then dried ... the solevent flows along the paper through the spots and on, carrying the substances from the spot
